Root & Branch Gin is a unique Irish gin, specially crafted in West Waterford by Blackwater Distillery. In an Irish first, we are committed to planting a native tree for each and every bottle sold.

Root & Branch Gin will change to reflect the seasons, with a new limited edition coming every three months. First up is a delicious Blood Orange & Pink Peppercorn variety, designed by Blackwater Distilllery’s Italian distiller Silvia Torresi. Delicious with tonic or soda, or in your favourite gin cocktail, this gin brings Mediterranean sun to Ireland as it was inspired by the flavours of Silvia’s home town of Ravenna in Italy.

And for every bottle sold, we plant a tree. It’s as simple as that. We do all the digging, all you need to do is break out the ice.

Ireland has the lowest forestry cover in Europe and planting native woodlands will play a key role in Ireland’s contribution to offsetting emissions and reversing climate change.

Native forestry also encourages rich bio-diversity, so everything from plants to fungi, and from microorganisms like bacteria, to animals like squirrels and foxes, all makes up our natural world. Each of those species and organisms work together in ecosystems, like an intricate web, to maintain balance and support life. From bugs, to humans everything needs trees and together we can plant a forest.
